Rescuing Roberto
an excursus on belonging and freedom
The universe continues to open up doors for me, and I’ve realized that this is part of what the next book will be and become. The next book is on belonging and freedom, but in order to experience belonging and freedom, I’ve got to get out of my head—out of the academic silo. I’m being rescued by those around me!
Recently, I received an invitation to travel to South Korea. Everything is paid for, except my plane ticket. I took to social media today and folks have been giving large and small. I am now only in need of $1089 to be able to purchase my flights! The tickets are $2280 and I have a $200 e-credit that I can use. Would you consider giving some change to help me close the gap and buy my ticket? I’m accepting Venmo, which is RobertoChe. If you need to mail a check, I can send you my mailing address, if you reply to this email.
My plan while I’m in Korea is to continue to root into concepts of belonging and freedom. I plan to do a temple stay at a Korean Buddhist Temple; talk with scholars and activists; and, get to know the land and food there. I plan to explore belonging and freedom outside of pure theory and invest in my own belonging and freedom. I’m able to do so much travel because folks, like you, support me. Can you help me get there? Venmo is RobertoChe.
I’ll be in South Korea for three weeks, and I plan to write my contemplative threads from a different land, plus sharing my adventures with y’all! I can’t wait to share this experience with y’all and see what bubbles up along the lines of belonging and freedom. I just need to close the gap to get my tickets! I hope you will consider helping! To give by Venmo, please use RobertoChe.
Onward, —Dr. Roberto Che Espinoza.
