Mid-week Roundup & Contemplative THREADS
Several days late, but I can explain! Invitation to read Bonhoeffer together!
I’m glad to be on the other side of dehydration and heat exhaustion! Being at Wild Goose, even though I was drinking water, I was not drinking enough! By Tuesday, my sugars were off and I was severely dehydrated. On Sunday evening, I came down with the chills and a fever, but thought nothing of it. It was my body telling me that it was NOT okay! I took myself to the urgent care in my area and got a bag of fluids and was sent home to hydrate. Today, I’m feeling more like myself! So sorry for the delay in the Contemplative THREADS post! Today, I’m combining the Mid-week Roundup post with the Contemplative THREADS post, both are for paying subscribers. So, now’s your chance to upgrade!
Are you interested in reading Bonhoeffer with us? Our Collective Becoming is launching learning pods (though we don’t know what we will call them!), and we want you to be involved in community oriented education. I am delighted to be working with 2 great scholars to bring this about. They are both rooted in community and spend a fair amount of time teaching outside of the academy. I’m thrilled that I am connected with them!
Our first pilot learning pod will be the Bonhoeffer books. You can get them here. When buying from this link, it supports our work, so please do consider that! There are about 12 folks interested in this group, so if you want to join them, please consider filling out this form! We will start in September and read thru November 2024 (thru the election cycle). It should be lively monthly call!
Also! For paying subscribers, I’m starting a monthly zoom call, so be on the look out for that invitation! Once a month and we will do a doodle to figure out the best time for everyone!
Save the Date for the next retreat with Our Collective Becoming! 3rd weekend in April 2024 in Black Mountain at the William Black Lodge! They want us to come back! Stay tuned for more information!
I’ll be back on Friday for the Formation post, which is for paying subscribers. Sunday’s Fun Things is a free post for everyone!
Onward, —Dr. Roberto Che Espinoza.
