🌱 Friday Care Package Week 26 of 52 — Resonance
A Care Practice for Living Into Possibility 🪡
Dear Becoming Ones: Each Friday, I sit down and write a care package, and sometimes the writing takes longer than what I have time for, so today’s Friday Care Package is arriving on Sunday, when I finished it. I’m learning to take time and manage my time and build in the necessary spaciousness for healing and nurturing another possible world. Gracias for reading! —Roberto.+

🌱 Friday Care Package
Week 26 of 52 —
Resonance
A Care Practice for Living Into Possibility
✨ The Word We Are Tending
Resonance
Dearest Becoming Ones—
While I missed two Fridays while away from my computer and investing deeply in the time and place where I was in Verona, I am back with another reminder of possibility.
From attunement to resonance, we arrive at Week 26.
Resonance is not agreement.
It is not sameness.
It is the capacity for one life, one story, one act of courage, or one moment of truth to vibrate within another.
Resonance is what happens when listening changes us.
It is possibility moving beyond the individual and becoming relational.
Or, as I have come to think of it:
Resonance is difference multiplying through repetition.
🌧️ Verona
Resonance is what I felt during Centering Time in Verona at the International Nexus Gathering.
Each morning we gathered.
We listened.
We became still.
And in that stillness, something unexpected happened.
I began to feel what needed to be felt.
Not think.
Not analyze.
Not explain.
Feel.
The hills outside the windows.
The stories being shared.
The silences between conversations.
The beauty of people gathered together in search of meaning.
The resonance was everywhere.
🍷 The Felt Sense
When we root into ourselves, we come closer to knowing what we need.
The world teaches us to move quickly.
To react.
To perform.
To produce.
But resonance requires another pace.
A slower rhythm.
A willingness to stay with what is emerging.
Those moments of centering in Verona became a container for feeling.
For grief.
For joy.
For longing.
For wonder.
And yes—the food.
The food was every bit as magical as the conversations.
Every meal carried its own wisdom.
Its own story.
Its own resonance.
I am increasingly convinced that food is one of the primary ways human beings remember belonging.
🎨 Art and the Vibrations of Being
Art provides resonance for me.
Embodied art.
Sound.
Taste.
Movement.
Story.
The kinds of experiences that linger long after the moment has passed.
A piece of music.
A painting.
A shared meal.
A conversation.
A glance exchanged between strangers.
These things vibrate within us.
And that vibration changes us.
Perhaps that is what resonance ultimately is:
A deep and abiding connection that continues to reverberate long after the encounter has ended.
🌿 Remember How You Feel
Recently I found myself saying to someone:
“Remember how you feel in a place.”
I hope she heard me.
I hope she listened.
Because the felt sense is both the first thing and the last thing.
Long before we have language, we feel.
And long after language fails us, feeling remains.
This is why attunement matters.
This is why resonance matters.
If we lose our ability to feel—if we surrender our lives entirely to machines, algorithms, distraction, and performance—then we risk losing our capacity to perceive truth, beauty, and goodness.
All three are contested now.
All three are under pressure.
As imperial violence continues to shape the conditions of our lives, the work of resonance becomes even more important.
Because resonance reminds us that we are still capable of being moved.
🔥 The Politics of Resonance
The philosopher Gilles Deleuze taught that difference emerges through repetition.
Not sameness.
Difference.
Every encounter changes us.
Every return reveals something new.
Every act of listening deepens the field of possibility.
Resonance is born in these repetitions.
Not because we become identical.
But because we remain open enough to be altered.
This is also what I hear in Gloria Anzaldúa.
The borderlands are not merely places of tension.
They are places of vibration.
Places where worlds touch one another and create new possibilities for becoming.
🌍 Another Possible World
Resonance is not a strategy.
It is not a program.
It is not a five-point plan.
Resonance is a way of being.
A way of noticing.
A way of allowing ourselves to be moved by beauty, grief, truth, and love.
And perhaps another possible world emerges not when we finally agree with one another—
but when we learn to resonate with one another.
🔁 The Refrain
Another world is not demanded of us— it is invited through attention, care, and courage.
🌿 Fugitive Somatic Practice
Listening for Resonance
3–5 minutes
Pause.
Place a hand over your heart.
Remember a moment, place, meal, conversation, or encounter that continues to live within you.
Do not analyze it.
Simply notice what remains.
Ask quietly:
“What still resonates?”
Stay there for three breaths.
Notice what vibrates.
🕯 Closing
May you remain open to being moved.
May beauty find you.
May story shape you.
May your life become a site of resonance.
And may the vibrations of care, courage, and possibility continue long after the moment has passed.
Paz,
