Living Lent this year
Dear Substack community: I have been preparing for my big trip to hike the Camino in Spain. I’ve long wanted to do this hike, but never had ideas on how to manifest it. Then, my friend and colleague Dr. Jake Myers and his wife Dr. Abby Myers developed a trip for pastors and preachers serving in a local church to have access to the Camino! So, I applied and was chosen!
I’ve been logging miles each week and today I logged 4 miles outside. It is nice in NY this week, so I can get out and get fresh air. This pilgrimage will NOT be easy and it is not a vacation. In fact, I’m using my continuing education time to do this trip and to root into my own spiritual life as a scholar-pastor these days! Wish me a buen camino!
