Good morning, Comrades! I hope this Monday is shaping up to be a great day! Today, November 20 is Trans Day of Remembrance, so I’ll be remembering those who have been killed due to violence today. I invite you to join me in remembering these folks who have passed as a result of violence and mistreatment. May we learn to value the dignity of every human!
I am writing with some very good news! I’ve been called to a church to serve them as their pastor. I am very much looking forward to this journey and the countless friends I will make as a result of serving a community as their pastor. What a humbling moment it was after the vote! Erin cried and I was in shock! Now the work begins!
I’ll be taking a sabbatical from the very public facing work of traveling and speaking, so that I can root into this community. I have felt that God has been calling me to root into community for several years, but due to the way I make money, it kept me on the road. Now, however, I’ll be preaching every Sunday and stewarding meaning making in every way possible. After all, I’m a theologian! I am grateful to my teacher and her dad for helping me see this possibility as one where I could live out my vocation in a fuller way! I’ve never wanted a public platform, but it was handed to me. I have tried to steward that public platform into community as much as possible and now I get to steward a real live community and I am both deeply humbled and very excited! I hope you will subscribe and continue learning about this journey and what all we are up to here in this community! I’ll still be writing and will continue my Substack and working on my next book, but the traveling will come to a halt. I now get to be very discerning about what travel I do and I have a board of elders who will help me discern. I am so excited about this!
That’s my big update! Please subscribe to stay up to date with what’s happening here! I’ll be releasing an Advent series this year; something I’ve always wanted to do. I hope you’ll subscribe to catch that! Now onto the contemplative THREADS!
